Former vice president of the Constitutional Court, and former president of the General Council of Lawyers. He has held numerous positions of responsibility in various state and international organizations. In relation to actions related to Human Rights, it should be noted that he is Founder of the Institut de Drets Humans de Catalunya and its first director. He participated in international human rights missions to Chile and Colombia. He was President of the Human Rights Commission of the European Bar Federation. He promoted the conferences on “Human Rights, Democracy and Terrorism” in 1996. President of the Human Rights Commission of the International Union of Lawyers (UIA). Promoter of the “Declaration of Justice Professionals against racism” (1997), a project selected by the European Commission as one of the 19 best developed in the European Year against racism.
