Concert for Peace

The World Peace Forum and the Conservatori Liceu foundation in collaboration with Carano 4 Children and Casa América de Catalunya present the Concert for Peace, an event where Music is put at the service of human aspirations for a better world, in which men and women can live in peace and develop their personal projects based on values of solidarity and empathy.

The concert includes the participation of Colombian singer-songwriter César López, the creator of the Escopetarra, a musical instrument of high symbolic meaning, since it is an AK-47 rifle converted into a guitar. López’s project aims to provide shotguns to prominent musicians around the world. Thanks to Casa América de Catalunya’s collaboration, we can listen to this instrument. In his performance, César López will have the collaboration of Diana Hoyos.

The students and teachers of the Conservatori Liceu will contribute with pieces and songs that have a lot to do with the desire for Peace to which this concert wants to give voice: the Choir of the Conservatori Liceu joins the song of Peace by Cesar López, Aseel Massoud and Ahmad Dyab, Master’s students of the Conservatori from Syria, will bring us the song of a girl for peace from the city of Damascus and the Saxophone Quartet will take us to Sarajevo.
